Defence and Transport Ministers Join CM Yogi at Highway Launch Ceremony
In a high‑profile event at Unnao’s Jhaukhera Rest Area, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will accompany Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to inaugurate the Lucknow‑Kanpur Expressway.
The trio will first inspect the newly constructed stretch before travelling to Sarojinagar for the formal foundation‑stone laying of the three national highway projects. The ceremony will also feature senior state officials, members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and senior officers of the National Highways Authority of India.
Security arrangements have been tightened, with dedicated traffic management plans, VIP movement corridors, and emergency medical services on standby. Organisers assure the public that disruptions will be minimal and that the event underscores the government’s commitment to modernising the state’s transport network.
The presence of both defence and transport portfolios signals a coordinated effort to enhance strategic connectivity, facilitating smoother movement of people and goods across the region.
