According to the police, Pakistani handlers lured a group of local youths with promises of money and involvement in the illicit drug trade, coercing them into carrying out the killing. The handlers allegedly demanded proof of loyalty, pushing the recruits to target a police officer. After the shooting, the accused filmed a 30‑40 second video at the scene to send to their overseas sponsors, a move captured on CCTV. Forensic analysis of the suspects’ mobile phones is underway to trace the full network of foreign operatives.
