A new cross‑border payment channel has been introduced, allowing Qatar‑based Indians to remit funds to India through the UPI system. The service combines the reach of Qatar’s postal outlets with India’s public digital banking framework, offering a fast, secure and low‑cost alternative to traditional money‑transfer methods. Users simply present the recipient’s UPI ID at any Qatar Post branch, and the money is credited to the Indian bank account within seconds. The permissible range per transaction is QAR 10‑4,000, with a transaction ceiling equivalent to ₹100,000, and a fixed charge of QAR 15.
