Crore-Rupee Blackmail Row Escalates With Three Counter FIRs
A dispute involving a Thane businessman and a woman influencer with millions of social media followers has moved into multiple criminal cases, with both parties now alleging serious wrongdoing against each other. The case has drawn attention because of the large sums of money involved and the sensitive allegations made on both sides.
On October 30, the businessman's complaint was reported. He has accused the woman of extorting Rs 1,39,81,893 from him by threatening to implicate him in rape and other serious cases and to circulate his private photos and videos. The complaint was registered at the Kasarvadavli police station in Thane.
The businessman says that after his complaint was filed, the woman lodged three separate FIRs against him. These complaints were registered at the Versova police station in Mumbai. She alleges that he concealed his marriage, promised to marry her, established physical relations and later stalked her, sent obscene messages and threatened her.
The businessman's version traces the relationship to a meeting at a Mumbai hotel in June 2023. He says that soon after, the woman began asking him for financial help. He initially gave her Rs 2.5 lakh, but he alleges that she then used photographs taken together and private conversations to blackmail him.
He says he was threatened with false charges and public exposure of his private material, and he continued meeting her demands because he feared damage to his name and his family. According to the complaint, more than Rs 94.17 lakh was transferred to her bank account through digital payments.
The complaint further lists expenses allegedly borne by him, including rent for a flat in Andheri West, security deposits, monthly rent, credit card bills and foreign trips. He also alleges that the woman demanded a 50 per cent stake in his wife's clothing company and Rs 2 lakh every month.
He says that under pressure she was made a partner in the company. He also claims he was later asked to pay Rs 15 lakh to get back company goods and other materials. Two payments of Rs 30 lakh each, in October 2025 and January 2026, are part of the amount he says was extracted.
According to the businessman, further demands were made in the name of buying property in Bengaluru, renting an office in Panvel and booking an expensive car. He also says that on May 18, 2026, the woman called his wife on WhatsApp, disclosed their alleged relationship and pressed for a divorce.
During this period, he alleges, an unidentified person threatened to kill his wife and family. The Kasarvadavli police have registered an FIR based on his complaint.
The woman's first complaint, filed on June 25, 2026, claims the businessman tried to pressure her into restarting their business and once came to her home, knocking on the door for nearly two hours. She also alleges obscene messages, threats and an assault by two unidentified women in Andheri.
In her second complaint, filed on September 2, 2026, she says he continued to harass her and her brother after their business ended, using different phone numbers and social media accounts to send obscene messages. She further alleges that he recharged her mobile without permission and sent two unknown people to her house. The police have registered an FIR.
Her third complaint, dated October 13, 2026, was filed at the Versova police station. In it, she says he hid his marital status and assured her of marriage before their relationship became physical in September 2024. The police have registered an FIR on this complaint as well.
With both sides making grave allegations, the investigation will need to examine the claims, counterclaims and evidence in each case.
