Court Records Reveal Unremoved Waste at Dada Majra, Hazard Escalates

Court documents presented by Prem Garg show that, despite legal proceedings, the dumped material at Dada Majra remains compressed beneath the ground. The waste layer, measured between 10 and 12 meters deep, continues to release methane—a toxic gas that can trigger chemical reactions when it mixes with water and other substances.

Garg warned that unchecked methane release could spread to surrounding neighborhoods, turning an environmental issue into a public health crisis.

He urged authorities to expedite the removal of legacy waste, warning that delays will only increase the complexity and cost of remediation.
