Coordinated Security Exercise Highlights Readiness at Kannur Airport

Kannur Airport's recent anti‑hijacking exercise showcased the preparedness of multiple security and emergency bodies. The mock operation recreated a hijacking attempt, allowing responders to practice securing the aircraft, evacuating passengers safely, and handling a confrontation with armed suspects.

Participating agencies such as CISF, NSG, the state bomb‑disposal squad, airport management, airline crews, the civil aviation regulator, and medical teams executed their roles according to a unified command structure. The drill emphasized swift information sharing and seamless hand‑over between units, ensuring that any real‑world crisis could be managed with minimal disruption.
