The Naina Devi Bird Conservation Reserve, established in 2016 and spanning roughly 114 square kilometres at elevations between 1,000 and 2,611 metres, now faces an urgent need for a comprehensive survey. Forest officials urge a detailed assessment of historic versus current bird and plant populations to identify those in decline. Such data would help design targeted protection strategies for the dwindling species and restore the ecological balance of the Cankhdham‑Pangot corridor.
