Representing Kishanganj in Bihar, Javed has penned a direct appeal to Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing authorities of failing to curb open intimidation against Muslim residents.
‘Deeply troubled by the disturbing events in Uttam Nagar, where the Muslim community faces systematic threats and harassment disrupting daily life,’ Javed stated in his letter. He described it as a chain of targeted enmity that undermines the state’s duty to protect every citizen equally.
The MP pointed to a toxic environment fueled by public provocations and hate speech, leaving a segment of Delhi’s population feeling vulnerable. Invoking the Constitution’s core principles—equality under Article 14, freedoms in Article 19, and dignity via Article 23—Javed argued these fundamental rights are at risk.
His demands are clear: immediate attention to the crisis, accountability for policing failures, and orders to Delhi Police to crack down on hate-spreaders without bias. Javed also seeks guaranteed protection for at-risk groups and an independent probe into police actions to dispel notions of inaction or favoritism.
