Congress Leaders Detained After PM Residence Protest; Sonia Meets Daughter Priyanka

Delhi police on Tuesday intensified actions against opposition members protesting outside the Prime Minister’s residence.

Leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were taken into police custody and placed at various locations – Rahul at Chaatsal stadium, others at Kingsway Camp, and Priyanka at the Temple Marg police station.

Later that night, Sonia Gandhi reached the Temple Marg station, flanked by numerous Congress dignitaries, to see her daughter. The two exchanged a brief conversation before Priyanka was returned to the holding area.

The incident underscores the growing tension between the ruling party and the Congress, especially as the opposition continues to rally around student‑related grievances and demands for education reforms.
