Congress leader alleges denial of Lok Sabha floor and student pellet gun injuries
During a press conference earlier this week, Rahul Gandhi claimed that he was repeatedly denied the opportunity to speak in the Lok Sabha. He asserted that officials told him he could address the House only if he apologized for remarks made about Home Minister Amit Shah, a condition he refused. Gandhi said he appealed several times to the Lok Sabha Speaker to restore order and allow his intervention, while ministers such as Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were repeatedly given the floor.
Gandhi also highlighted a separate incident involving university students where a pellet gun was allegedly used, causing an eye injury to a protester. He presented a medical certificate from AIIMS confirming the pellet wound and accused the government of failing to protect peaceful demonstrators.
