Congress condemns BJP and AIMIM as anti‑national in response to Vande Mataram Bill
Surendra Rajput took a sharp stance on the newly introduced ‘Vande Mataram Bill’ presented by AIMIM leader Waris Pathan. The Congress leader labeled both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the All India Majlis‑e‑Ittehadul Muslimeen as “anti‑national forces” seeking to divide the country.
He emphasized that India belongs to people of all faiths and that a political system that caters exclusively to Hindus or Muslims would contravene the Constitution.
“The bill is an attempt to politicize a national symbol and weaponise it against dissent,” Rajput said, adding that the Congress will continue to defend secular values.
The comments were made as the debate over the bill intensified in Parliament, with opposition parties warning of communal unrest.
