Congress Accuses Centre of Concealing OBC Population to Skew Representation

Manikam Tagore charged the BJP‑led union government with deliberately hiding the true size of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) to deny them fair political representation. He recalled that the centre previously postponed caste‑based data collection by invoking delimitation concerns, and now intends to collect OBC figures through open‑ended questions, claiming there is no comprehensive list for these communities. Tagore called this a calculated move to marginalise backward groups in education, employment and political power.
