Congress Accuses BJP‑RSS of Caste Bias After Controversial 'Purification' at Khadge Rally

New Delhi, August 13 – As the monsoon session of Parliament progressed, Congress leaders leveled serious accusations against the NDA, claiming it is suppressing opposition remarks and halting parliamentary business.

MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed shock at the unprecedented scenes inside the parliament precincts. KC Venugopal demanded that the Home Minister appear before the House to discuss the "purification" ritual allegedly performed after Mallikarjun Khadge’s rally in Haldwani, Uttarakhand.

Other Congress MPs, including Imran Pratapgarhi, Kartik Chidambaram and Rajeev Shukla, criticized the government for rushing bills through without thorough debate and for limiting the opposition’s opportunity to raise issues during question hour and zero hour.

The Khadge rally, which concluded with a ceremony labelled as "shuddhikaran," has been portrayed by Congress as evidence of the BJP and RSS’s discriminatory mindset towards Dalits. The party called the act "deeply offensive" and demanded a statement from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Aaman Singh accused the ruling coalition of refusing to recognize the role of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBCs in public life. Imran Pratapgarhi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Nitin Gadkari on the rationale behind conducting a purification ritual after a senior Dalit leader’s address.

The controversy adds fuel to the ongoing parliamentary deadlock, with Congress insisting that the government’s agenda is out of step with the aspirations of ordinary citizens across the country.
