Congress accused of supporting violence after viral audio surfaces
The BJP’s national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha launched a blistering critique of the Congress party on Monday, linking the opposition to a newly released audio clip that purportedly features Prashant Bhushan urging violent measures to bring down the government. Sinha asserted that the democratic process, not blood‑shed, determines leadership, noting that the next general election will be held in 2029.
Citing P. Chidambaram’s recent comments on the difficulty of government change, Sinha argued that any attempt to discuss forced removal of a sitting administration is irresponsible. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi is shielding Bhushan and activist Neha Bora, claiming they embody a desire for unrest in the country.
The spokesman warned that Congress’s perceived tolerance for extremist voices shows a lack of commitment to peaceful, electoral politics. He also criticized Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s recent journey to France, stating that there was no official invitation and highlighting the timing with Mann’s birthday and his wife’s presence as irregular for a diplomatic visit.
Sinha concluded that the party must be held accountable for any rhetoric that encourages blood‑shed, asserting that the nation’s future depends on upholding democratic values.
