Congress Accused of Political Calculus in Youth Issues, Says Shiv Sena

Mumbai, July 21 – Raju Vaghmare, the spokesperson for Shiv Sena, charged the Congress party with prioritising political maths over genuine concern for young people. Referring to the recent paper leak scandal that affected students’ exam preparations, Vaghmare said Rahul Gandhi has not articulated a firm stance, leaving the youth community uncertain about the party’s commitment.

Vaghmare stressed that Gandhi, a former student himself, should recognise the distress caused by such disruptions. While he called for due process in investigating the leak, he cautioned against rushing to demand resignations without factual basis.

The Shiv Sena official accused Congress of tailoring its position on various movements to avoid alienating potential voters, suggesting that the party fears losing supporters to rival factions if it openly endorses student agitations.

On the parliamentary side, Vaghmare hailed the Lok Sabha Speaker’s decision to classify six Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) legislators as part of the Eknath Shinde group, describing it as a rightful constitutional action. He argued that the Shinde‑led faction now holds a greater number of MPs, strengthening the NDA’s legislative footing.

When queried about the likelihood of Shiv Sena representatives receiving ministerial roles, Vaghmare replied that final decisions lie with party chief Eknath Shinde, but hinted that discussions are already in motion given the party’s enhanced standing within the coalition.
