Complaint Filed Over Abhishek Banerjee Office Sparks Political Tension

A complaint regarding the office of senior Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee was registered with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation earlier this week. The grievance, cited by former TMC member Riju Dutta, alleges irregularities in the use of municipal space for political purposes.

The KMC confirmed that an inspection team visited the Kamakhya Street premises and attempted to remove a large hoarding, leading to a heated exchange between party workers and municipal officials. Dutta described the incident as a "sharp confrontation" and accused the incumbent state government of ignoring procedural norms.

He added that the complaint will be examined thoroughly and reminded the authorities that any violation of municipal regulations must be dealt with according to the law. The episode adds to the growing friction between the ruling opposition and the administration of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
