CM Yogi Adityanath Lights Clay Lamp at Ram Temple During Diwali Festivities

Ayodhya – In a ceremony that blended politics with devotion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lit a clay lamp inside the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on the occasion of Diwali. The visit, scheduled for early Sunday, saw the CM reach the temple precincts around 8 a.m., where he was received by Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, the trust’s general secretary.

Yogi performed a ritual aarti and offered prayers before Lord Ram, then gently placed an earthen diya on the altar, a symbolic gesture meant to illuminate the path of righteousness. After completing the puja, he conversed with Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Ji and other revered saints, seeking their blessings for the state.

The chief minister’s itinerary continued with his participation in the 10th Diwali Milan Mahotsav held in Carsevakpuram. The gathering featured senior monks, Ram temple activists, and community leaders. In his address, Yogi recalled the indispensable contributions of Ashok Singhal, the late former leader of the World Hindu Council, and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in realizing the dream of a majestic Ram temple.

Authorities reported that the CM’s presence heightened the spiritual fervor of Diwali celebrations, with devotees engaging in prayer, chanting, and traditional rites throughout Ayodhya.
