CM Vijay Calls on Students to Shun Drugs and Pursue Excellence
Chennai — Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay used a student-focused awards program on Wednesday to advocate for academic rigor, mental resilience, and a clean, substance-free lifestyle. Held in Nilangarai, the ceremony honored students who secured top marks in their Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, with participants receiving formal recognition and financial incentives.
Delivering an emotional address, Vijay thanked the youth for their extraordinary warmth and continuous backing. He distinguished his attendance from typical political rallies, asserting that he came to connect with students on a personal level rather than to discuss policy or campaign for future elections.
The Chief Minister also sidestepped rumors about his electoral timeline for 2029, clarifying that the day’s agenda was strictly oriented toward educational recognition. He urged teenagers to stay focused on their academics and personal growth, warning them that premature political involvement can derail their educational goals.
According to Vijay, the youth hold the power to define the state’s tomorrow. He made it clear that families, communities, and state institutions rely on their success. He challenged students to ignore skeptics and naysayers, stressing that setbacks should not override personal ambitions.
Building a successful future requires unwavering commitment, bold decision-making, and a strong sense of self-worth, he explained. He also issued a stern warning regarding societal pitfalls, particularly the corrupt practices of bribery and systemic malpractice, alongside the pervasive threat of drug addiction.
He advised students to cultivate strong ethical foundations, reject illegal activities, and maintain confidence while chasing their dreams. Reaffirming that his support for young people will remain unwavering despite mounting political responsibilities, Vijay closed the event by encouraging steadfastness. He assured students that their collective dedication and determination will inevitably lead to personal triumphs and meaningful contributions to Tamil Nadu’s progress.
