Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta turned reflective on the birth anniversary of iconic leader Sushma Swaraj, affirming her enduring significance in her life. During a media interaction on Saturday, Gupta expressed, ‘Sushma ji occupied a pivotal role in my life, one that remains etched forever. Her memory lingers with us all.’
Recalling Swaraj’s exemplary leadership, Gupta emphasized its foundation in empathy and affection. ‘From party cadres to the grassroots public, from the country at large to women in particular, her mentorship was truly unforgettable,’ she said. Gupta shared a personal note, admitting that Swaraj’s towering personality continues to evoke fond memories and a sense of loss.
The event gained added prominence with the inauguration of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar’s statue at the Shahdara-based Arogya Sansthan, coinciding with the RSS’s 100-year milestone. Over the past 27-28 years, this facility has been a lifeline for local residents seeking healthcare. Gupta described the statue unveiling as an inspiring milestone.
Through her post on X, the CM delved deeper into the historical context. She portrayed Dr. Hedgewar as the visionary who planted the seed of national revival on that sacred Vijayadashami in 1925. Today, that seed stands as a colossal tree, steadfast in serving Bharat Mata. His philosophy underscores character development as the path to societal harmony, now pivotal to the nation’s cultural awakening.
Gupta reaffirmed the centenary commitment: to propel India back to its pristine glory and pinnacle of prosperity. Plans are underway to upgrade the hospital with advanced machinery, ensuring better care. ‘This monument will eternally remind us that true service is worship, and the nation comes first,’ she poignantly stated, calling for collective dedication to these principles.
