CM Participation Scheme Places 1.67 Lakh Stray Cattle with Beneficiaries

Under the Chief Minister Participation Scheme, Uttar Pradesh has allocated 167,658 stray cattle to 93,287 eligible recipients. The program seeks to protect abandoned livestock while providing a reliable source of income for farmers.

The scheme operates alongside a larger land‑recovery project that cleared 39,721.541 hectares of common grazing ground in the state’s 62 districts, removing illegal occupants.

Beneficiaries are responsible for the feeding, watering, and overall care of the cattle, creating a secure environment for the animals and encouraging organized animal husbandry in rural areas.

By linking land reform with livestock distribution, the government intends to curb the problem of stray animals on public roads and strengthen the agrarian economy through sustainable livestock practices.
