Jaipur’s Ajmer Road Bus Terminal buzzed with excitement on Rajasthan Day as Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched 207 brand-new buses into the Rajasthan Roadways fleet. This ambitious expansion is set to revolutionize public transport, bridging gaps in rural-urban connectivity and prioritizing rider comfort.
Joining the CM were key dignitaries including Deputy CM Dr. Premchand Bairwa, MP Manju Sharma, and Minister Jogaram Patel. The event kicked off with a fleet inspection, followed by traditional rituals and the much-awaited flag-off.
Breaking down the fleet: 100 Blue Line services, 79 non-AC variants, and 28 luxurious AC buses will hit the roads, servicing revived routes and popular intercity lines. These vehicles boast enhanced safety features and modern amenities, ensuring a smoother ride for daily commuters and long-haul travelers alike.
On X, Sharma shared his vision: a step towards hassle-free, secure travel for every Rajasthani. The launch coincided with a road safety drive, distributing helmets to 700 women designated as ‘Road Safety Sentinels,’ aiming to instill helmet-wearing habits and cut down on mishaps.
This fleet upgrade signals Rajasthan’s proactive stance on transport infrastructure. By reconnecting dormant routes and upgrading facilities, the state is paving the way for efficient mobility, economic upliftment, and a culture of road discipline that benefits generations to come.
