During the severe floods in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann remained actively involved with flood-affected families and relief efforts. Even while hospitalized, he engaged in a video call with Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh. The CM commended the singer’s relief work.
Chief Minister Mann also specifically thanked Preetpal Singh Hanspal, the owner of Hanspal Traders. Hanspal Traders played a crucial role in rescuing people and their animals stranded in the floods, constructing over 150 boats for the effort.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasized that in this time of crisis, Punjabis have once again demonstrated their courage, spirit of service, and examples of mutual brotherhood. The Punjab government stands firmly with all those who are helping others at their own level and are engaged in saving lives. The CM added that this is not just administrative support, but also an emotional connection with the sentiments of the people of Punjab. This is why every Punjabi today believes that they are not alone; their government stands with them, and not only the government, but also their society stands with them with full strength and sensitivity.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted to the hospital on September 5th due to ill health. Following an improvement in his condition, he chaired a cabinet meeting via video conferencing from the hospital on Monday. The meeting was initially postponed due to the CM’s illness. He was also unable to accompany CM Arvind Kejriwal on a tour of the flood-affected areas.
