CISF Leaders Inspect Pilgrimage Security Infrastructure in Kashmir

The Director General of CISF, Praveer Ranjan, led a delegation of senior officials on July 13 to examine the security set‑up at Baltal base camp and the revered Amarnath cave in Ganderbal district. The purpose of the visit was to scrutinise every facet of pilgrim safety, from medical response squads and fire‑fighting readiness to logistical arrangements and coordination among the various security agencies.

During the trip, a comprehensive security briefing was held with top brass from the CAPF, Indian Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police and other relevant bodies. The DG inspected the joint police control room, the newly established CISF camp, and other operational installations at the base camp, confirming that all provisions meet the required standards. He affirmed his trust in the agencies’ unwavering commitment to deliver a secure and incident‑free Amarnath pilgrimage.

On the preceding Sunday, the DG, along with ADG (North) Sudhir Kumar and DIG/ND‑II M.K. Yadav, visited the Nunwan base camp for a similar assessment. Their review encompassed deployment strategies, access‑control mechanisms, surveillance equipment, communications frameworks, medical facilities and logistical support. The team examined checkpoints, communication hubs, QR/T stations, CCTV control rooms and other strategic points, interacting with stationed troops, health personnel and women staff. Emphasis was placed on maintaining the highest operational standards, strict adherence to SOPs, continuous vigilance and enhanced cooperation among all security agencies throughout the pilgrimage.
