Chugh Accuses Congress of Neglecting SC Leaders Amid Growing Rift
In a statement released on July 4, BJP legislator Tarun Chugh accused the Congress party of failing to treat its Scheduled Caste (SC) leaders and workers with due respect. He said this neglect is deepening alienation within the party and contributing to a broader internal crisis. Chugh cited remarks from former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, indicating that the level of disagreement and bitterness among party ranks is on the rise. He warned that if the party does not address these grievances, it may face an existential threat. The MP also commended a recent operation by the Gujarat Anti‑Terrorism Squad that led to the capture of terrorists associated with Jaish‑e‑Mohammed. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "zero tolerance" policy on terrorism, contrasting it with what he described as the softer approach of earlier governments. On the topic of the opposition’s INDIA alliance, Chugh asserted that baseless challenges to the Election Commission’s fairness damage democratic institutions. He called on all political entities to maintain confidence in electoral bodies and to safeguard the public from misleading political tactics.
