Children’s basic facilities missing in UP government schools, says Mayawati

Mayawati pointed out that many government schools in Uttar Pradesh are operating without the most fundamental resources. According to her, a growing number of schools have been shut down or left half‑finished, while the remaining ones suffer from absent drinking water, broken furniture, and unhygienic toilets.

She reminded that the BSP has, during its four terms in power, consistently prioritized education for marginalized communities. The leader called for an urgent policy shift, asking the state to allocate funds for infrastructure, recruit qualified teachers, and ensure regular maintenance of school premises.
