Chief Ministers Across States Praise Lion Protection on Global Day

As the world marks World Lion Day, India’s regional leaders united in a chorus of support for the apex predator. Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh posted on X, declaring that protecting lions is not merely about a single species but about protecting the entire ecological tapestry of the country.

Delhi’s chief minister Rekha Gupta echoed this sentiment, calling the lion a cornerstone of the nation’s wildlife legacy and urging citizens to act as stewards of nature. Uttarakhand’s chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Rajasthan’s chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma added their voices, each emphasizing the lion’s role in maintaining ecological equilibrium and the urgent need to safeguard its natural habitats.

The combined messages highlighted a nationwide resolve to enhance awareness, strengthen habitat protection, and foster a culture of conservation that will benefit future generations.
