Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Vows Strict Enforcement of Air Quality Rules

Rekha Gupta, Delhi’s chief minister, announced that the recent audit of 2,011 industrial units resulted in 106 violations of environmental standards. She stressed that the government will not tolerate any breach that threatens residents’ health. While 44 firms are liable for environmental compensation, 33 have been ordered to shut down until they obtain proper clearances. The chief minister also called upon citizens to report any illegal dumping, open burning, or excessive dust generation, asserting that community tips are vital for rapid enforcement.
