Chief Minister’s order prompts intensive inspection of sweets and dairy in Tehri Garhwal

Following the chief minister’s instructions, the Tehri Garhwal administration has intensified monitoring of food‑quality across the district. District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal directed that food‑safety officials maintain heightened vigilance over confectionery, dairy and other consumables sold during the festive rush. A joint inspection team surveyed multiple outlets in Chamba market, checking cleanliness, storage conditions and adherence to safety norms. Ten random samples were taken for laboratory verification. The authorities warned that any deviation from prescribed standards will trigger enforcement action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
