Chief Minister and Home Minister Join Talks on Strategic ‘Chicken Neck’ Corridor
The upcoming meeting in Kolkata will see the chief minister, the Director General of Police, the chief secretary and the home secretary sit alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Their agenda includes reviewing past security lapses along the narrow stretch that connects the mainland to the northeastern region of India.
Officials stressed that coordinated action between the centre and the state is essential to ensure the corridor remains safe for civilian movement and commercial traffic. The minister assured that the discussions will result in concrete measures to fortify the area and avoid any future disruptions.
The dialogue also aims to align infrastructure projects with security protocols, thereby promoting seamless logistics for businesses operating in the region.
