Chief Election Commissioner Engages Students and BLOs in Lucknow

In a high‑profile appearance in Lucknow, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanneshu Kumar met with students, teachers and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to strengthen election literacy ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly polls. The CEC, who studied at Calvin Talukdar College, stressed that BLOs are vital to the democratic framework and will receive detailed guidance on ensuring a smooth voting process. Around 1,500 participants from 440 institutions across 20 districts are expected to join the ELC 2.0 and ECINET regional conference, which will be rolled out in Lucknow, Meerut and Varanasi. The programme aims to connect youth with the electoral system and deepen their understanding of democratic duties.
