P. Chidambaram responds to Bhagwat’s outreach to youth

Former finance minister and senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram said he was not surprised that Bhagwat reached out to young activists. He reminded the audience that BJP president Nitin Naveen and RSS joint general secretary Atul Limaye had recently spoken about Jantar‑Mantar and CJP demonstrators.

Chidambaram asked whether Bhagwat was now repenting for the "baseless accusations" made by those senior leaders. He stressed that protests are a legitimate democratic tool and should never be labeled anti‑national. The former minister called for a balanced narrative that respects both institutional authority and youthful dissent.
