Yash Fans Plant Brings 3,500 Jobs to Nava Raipur
A new manufacturing plant in Nava Raipur is set to put Chhattisgarh on the electronics production map. The facility, which will make fans and kitchen appliances for major brands, is the first consumer electronics unit of its kind in the state. With an investment of more than Rs 152 crore, it is projected to create direct jobs for roughly 3,500 people.
The bhoomi pujan for the Yash Fans unit was performed in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The project is viewed as an important milestone for Chhattisgarh's industrial progress, marking the beginning of electronics manufacturing in the region.
The Chief Minister stated that the state's new industrial policy is built on a clear principle: investment must translate into employment. Chhattisgarh has so far received investment proposals exceeding Rs 8.5 lakh crore. The government's aim is to keep young people in the state by offering quality jobs locally and to position Chhattisgarh as a prominent industrial destination in India.
More local opportunities for youth
The primary advantage of any new industrial venture is the employment it generates. The Nava Raipur unit is expected to provide direct work to around 3,500 people, giving many young job seekers a chance to build careers at home.
When employment is available locally, the need to move to distant states or metro cities reduces. Workers can live near their families and still earn well. Higher income also helps households cover daily expenses, school fees and other essential needs.
The economic ripple effect of such a plant is wide. As more residents earn regular incomes, demand rises across local markets. Businesses such as neighbourhood shops, property rental, transport, food services and other local enterprises are likely to benefit as well.
Why Chhattisgarh is attracting industry
Ritesh Nareddy, Chairman of Yash Fans, highlighted several reasons for choosing the state. He pointed to the availability of raw materials such as steel and aluminium, the country's central geographic location, a hardworking human resource base and the cooperation extended by the state government. Yash Fans, headquartered in Hyderabad, currently runs 12 manufacturing units across Hyderabad and Himachal Pradesh. The Nava Raipur plant will mark the company's first unit in Chhattisgarh.
Steady industrial expansion
Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Devangan said that more than 3,000 large and small industries have been set up in Chhattisgarh in the last two and a half years. These industries have generated employment for over 50,000 people. Upcoming industrial projects are likely to create opportunities for more than 1.5 lakh people. He said these figures show the government's commitment to expanding industry and generating new avenues of employment.
Subsidy support expanded
Finance Minister OP Choudhary said the state has also significantly increased its budgetary provision for industrial incentives. The subsidy allocation has been raised from roughly Rs 200 crore to over Rs 1,000 crore. He noted that the new industrial policy gives equal importance to investment and job creation. The aim of the increase is to encourage investors who want to set up industries in the state and to accelerate industrial activity across Chhattisgarh.
