The western coastal belt, covering Konkan, Goa and central Maharashtra, may receive rain until 4 October. Gujarat has the potential for showers up to 1 October. In the northeast, states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to see scattered rainfall through early October.
Southern India, including coastal Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, northern inland Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala, also faces a chance of rain from today through 4 October. These systems are driven by two cyclonic circulations forming over the Arabian Sea, raising the probability of thunderstorms and gusty winds across a large portion of the subcontinent.
