VVIP Movements and Traffic Management Plans for BRICS Leaders

With dozens of presidents, prime ministers and senior officials converging on Delhi, the city’s traffic management system has been overhauled for the summit period. A joint task force comprising Delhi Traffic Police and the summit’s security cell has drafted detailed movement plans for each leader.

The plans include pre‑cleared lanes, temporary road closures and staggered convoy schedules to avoid bottlenecks. Public transport routes have been adjusted, and additional signage is being installed to guide commuters.

Authorities have appealed to the public to check the latest traffic advisories before traveling and to follow the designated routes. Violations of the temporary restrictions may attract penalties, ensuring that the VVIP convoys can move safely and on time.

The traffic strategy also incorporates emergency medical routes and quick‑clearance procedures for any unforeseen incidents, reflecting a comprehensive preparedness stance.
