Visually impaired students will get information about legal rights and government schemes from Braille book - Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma A new path for visually impaired students 'Divyang Rights and Inspirational Stories' Braille book launched Visually impaired students will be empowered and made aware of their rights, government schemes and inspirational life episodes through a special Braille book 'Divyang Rights and Inspirational Stories' which was launched today by Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma. Expressing happiness at the occasion, the Revenue Minister said that every child has an equal right to knowledge and opportunities. The 'Divyang Rights and Inspirational Stories' Braille book will not only inform visually impaired students about their legal rights and government schemes, but also fill them with indomitable self-confidence and a new zeal to move forward through stories of struggle leading to success. This initiative strengthens the government's commitment to 'inclusive and accessible education'. A unique effort towards accessible education The book has been prepared entirely in Braille script keeping the specific needs of visually impaired students in mind. Through it, the rights of persons with disabilities, the opportunities available to them, and stories of inspirational personalities who have triumphed over adverse circumstances to raise the flag of success are conveyed to students in an easy and accessible manner. Edited by distinguished teachers The book's excellent editorial work has been done by award-winning teachers K. Sharda (Recipient of the President's Award) and Preeti Shandilya (Recipient of the Governor's Award). Both teachers have been continuously working in the field of inclusive education and providing accessible academic material for visually impaired children. Free distribution in 20 visually impaired schools of the state Immediately after the launch, copies of this useful Braille book were distributed to 20 visually impaired schools in Chhattisgarh so that as many students as possible can benefit without any hindrance. Guests and academicians present at the event described this initiative as a historic step towards increasing knowledge, awareness and access to rights for differently-abled students. This meaningful effort will strengthen the foundation of inclusive education in the state and pave the way for a bright and self-reliant future for visually impaired students.
