Villagers Praise CM’s 1076 Helpline After Swift Handpump Repair
Raipur, September 12, 2026 – The Gram Panchayat of Rataga witnessed a remarkable turnaround when a faulty handpump, which had halted the supply of drinking water, was repaired within 24 hours of a complaint lodged on the Chief Minister’s 1076 helpline.
Sant Ram, a local farmer, called the helpline to report the malfunction. The complaint was instantly forwarded to the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, which dispatched a technical team to the village.
The PHE crew inspected the pump, replaced the damaged components and recommissioned the unit by the next day. The immediate restoration provided clean water to the entire community, ending a period of scarcity.
Villagers lauded the speed of the response, saying it exceeded their expectations. “We expected a solution, but not this quickly,” Sant Ram said, adding that the episode has boosted their confidence in the state’s administrative machinery.
The episode highlights the role of the CM Helpline 1076 as an effective bridge between citizens and the government, cutting down the time and effort previously spent travelling to district offices for problem resolution.
Officials pointed out that the rapid fix aligns with the chief minister’s promise of “good governance” – a promise that stresses listening to citizens and delivering timely, on‑site solutions.
