VHP welcomes plan to hire CEO for Ram Temple administration

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has expressed strong support for the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s proposal to appoint a Chief Executive Officer. The organization believes that a professional CEO will introduce greater transparency, disciplined financial oversight and efficient day‑to‑day management of the Ram Temple complex.

According to the trust’s latest announcement, a three‑member search committee—consisting of retired Justice Pradeep Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukanth Chaturvedi and former Sabyaba Trust president Suresh Havde—will screen candidates, interview them and forward a shortlist of three names to the governing board.

VHP officials highlighted that the CEO’s role will be pivotal in resolving longstanding administrative challenges, especially in the wake of the recent chadhava dispute that sparked public debate. They added that a clear chain of command will help prevent future controversies and safeguard the temple’s sanctity.

Parallel to this development, the Special Investigation Team’s initial report has not implicated the trust’s secretary, Champat Rai, in any irregularities. The final SIT report is still awaited and is expected before the trust’s next major meeting scheduled for July 22.

The upcoming meeting will also decide on the appointment of a new secretary, additional board members, and will outline reforms in accounting, management systems and overall governance. Treasurer Govind Dev Giri emphasized the need for any evidence of misconduct to be submitted directly to the SIT for impartial investigation.
