Uttar Pradesh to Jharkhand Brace for Intense Monsoon Downpours

The monsoon has surged back with full force in Uttar Pradesh. More than two dozen districts in the eastern and southern zones are under a warning for very heavy rain, lightning and strong breezes. Bihar also faces warnings for 11 districts, while Jharkhand’s Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga and Gumla have been placed under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall. The IMD has highlighted the possibility of flash floods in low‑lying areas and advised authorities to keep flood‑relief measures on standby.
