Under the state's good governance, tendu leaf collectors receive financial strength, bonus amount of over Rs 1.39 crore reached the accounts of 10,160 beneficiaries

Raipur: In line with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai's vision, a significant step was taken towards the economic empowerment of forest-dwelling and tendu leaf collector families by making an online payment of the 2023 tendu leaf collection incentive (bonus) amount. Through the Penra Road District Small Forest Produce Cooperative Union under the Marwahi forest division of Gaurela Pendra Marwahi district, the bonus amount of Rs 1 crore 39 lakh 36 thousand 718 was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 10,160 beneficiaries belonging to nine primary small forest produce cooperative societies via the MFP Collection and Payment System. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s government is continuously working to strengthen the livelihood of forest-dwelling communities, provide timely financial assistance, and bolster the small forest produce based economy. Accordingly, a bonus amount was distributed based on 6,593 standard baskets of tendu leaf collection. Because the entire payment process was completed through digital and transparent means, beneficiaries received the amount directly in their bank accounts without any delay, creating a sense of satisfaction among collectors. Under the guidance of Forest Division Officer and Penna Management Director Mrs. Grihasmi Chand, this campaign has provided economic relief to thousands of forest-dwelling families. The received bonus will be used for agricultural activities, children's education, health and other essential household needs, leading to a positive improvement in their standard of living. It is noteworthy that the incentive for the 2023 tendu leaf collection had already been paid at a rate of Rs 4,000 per standard basket. Now, with the additional incentive (bonus) payment, collectors have received extra financial support, strengthening both the economic condition of forest families and the rural economy. The state government’s welfare and beneficiary‑centric policies under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai are reaching the last person in society. Providing bonus amounts to tendu leaf collectors in a timely and transparent manner is a strong example of this commitment, adding a new chapter of prosperity and self‑reliance to the lives of forest‑dwelling communities.
