Two mobiles and other items stolen as Rapido rider flees

A recent incident in Raipur’s Purani Basti area highlights the risk of luggage theft on ride‑sharing platforms. The passenger, travelling from Shastri Chowk to Aamapara, secured a bag that held two smartphones along with other personal items. After reaching Bhim Nagar, the driver abruptly started the scooter, took the bag and raced away, refusing to accept the fare. The victim’s attempts to halt the driver with loud protests proved futile. Police have opened an investigation, seeking the driver’s details through the Rapido booking record and any available CCTV footage.
