In Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, two separate road accidents have resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals, while another has sustained serious injuries. The incidents have cast a pall of sorrow over the affected areas.
The first accident occurred near the Pilari canal in the Kharsia police station area on Tuesday morning. Budhheshwar Sidar (35), a resident of Suti village, was on a motorcycle with his relative Rupesh Sidar, returning from dropping off his sister in Gadgaon. A speeding trailer, traveling from Kharsia towards Raigarh, struck their motorcycle. The trailer’s wheels ran over Budhheshwar, causing his instant death. Rupesh Sidar suffered severe injuries and was admitted to the hospital. The trailer driver fled the scene. Police arrived at the location, sent the body for post-mortem examination, and initiated an investigation.
The second incident took place in Dhanagar village, under the Kotra Road police station area. On Monday evening, around 5 PM, Uttam Prasad Sarthi parked a sand-loaded tractor on a slope and went home. Ashok Yadav (46), who was nearby, saw the tractor rolling down the slope and attempted to stop it. During the attempt, Ashok Yadav came under the tractor, and its wheel ran over his head, leading to his immediate death. Family members and villagers informed the police about the incident. The police sent the body for a post-mortem and launched an investigation after registering a case.
