Travelers Face Higher Costs as Toll Fees Increase in Chhattisgarh

RAYPUR, August 5, 2026 – Motorists travelling through Chhattisgarh’s national highways will now encounter higher toll fees after the National Highways Authority of India adjusted rates at ten toll plazas. The changes, which became effective on August 1, add a modest increase of five to ten rupees depending on the class of vehicle.

The toll points affected are Mudiyapara, Baiji, Limha, Madanpur, Chotiya, Pachira, Maharajpur, Lodam, Paraghat and Kesla. Under the new schedule, a car, jeep or van at Mudiyapara pays ₹50 (previously ₹45), and a heavy vehicle pays ₹165 (previously ₹160). At Baiji, cars remain at ₹65, but light commercial vehicles rise to ₹105 and buses/trucks to ₹220.

Transport specialists warn that the added expense could raise the overall cost of moving goods, which may in turn be passed onto consumers. NHAI stated that periodic toll revisions are essential to maintain road quality, ensure smooth operations, and fund further development of highway infrastructure.

All ten plazas have already started collecting the revised tolls, and the rates will stay in place until the next review cycle.
