Raipur, July 13, 2026 – At the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata-2026, Chhattisgarh tourism achieved another notable national accolade with its impressive presence. At the successful conclusion of the three‑day prestigious tourism event, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board was honoured among participants from 21 states with the "Best Decoration of Stall and Appearance" award for its attractive, creative and impactful pavilion. The award recognises the Board’s successful efforts in presenting the state’s rich cultural heritage, tribal life, natural tourism, religious sites and modern tourism perspective on a national platform. From July 10 to 12, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s pavilion at the world‑class venue in Kolkata became a major attraction for visitors, tourism experts, tour operators and investors. The pavilion showcased the tribal culture of Bastar, the waterfalls of Chitrakot and Tirathgarh, Kanger Valley National Park, Sirpur, Bhoramdev, religious and eco‑tourism sites, tourism resorts and the state’s diverse tourism circuits through modern presentation techniques, receiving wide appreciation. During the event, the Board’s Chairman Mr. Nilu Sharma, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Department Mr. S. Bharati Dasan and Managing Director Mr. Vivek Acharya participated in numerous B‑to‑B meetings with national and international tour operators, travel agencies, hotel groups, tourism experts and investors. The discussions covered tourism investment, development of joint tourism packages, marketing cooperation, access to new tourism markets and possibilities to increase visitor numbers in Chhattisgarh, strengthening future partnerships and investment opportunities. About 28 registered tour operators, hotel operators, homestay owners and tourism entrepreneurs from Chhattisgarh and other states actively engaged at the fair, providing an opportunity to present the state’s tourism products to the national industry and forge new business relationships. The inauguration was attended by tourism ministers of Goa Mr. Rohan A. Khandvate, Uttarakhand Mr. Satpal Maharaj, West Bengal Dr. Shankar Ghosh and Thailand’s commercial counsellor Ms. Siriporn Tantiyanapet, among other distinguished guests, who observed the Chhattisgarh pavilion and praised the state’s natural beauty, tribal culture, religious heritage and tourism development potential, highlighting Chhattisgarh as an emerging tourism destination. Chairman Nilu Sharma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal, the state is continuously achieving new milestones in tourism. He added that platforms like TTF are crucial for showcasing the state’s tourism potential to the country and the world, and the award proves that Chhattisgarh is securing a strong presence on the national tourism map through its unique cultural identity, natural splendor and excellent tourism resources. Secretary S. Bharati Dasan of the Tourism and Culture Department stated that the government views tourism as a vital driver of economic growth, local employment and cultural preservation, and that effective participation on national and international platforms will positively boost tourism investment, visitor numbers and private sector involvement in the state. Managing Director Vivek Acharya noted that the Board is continuously working to bring the state’s tourism products to national and global markets, and that the success and national award at TTF‑2026 reflect the collective efforts of all stakeholders and will give new momentum to the campaign to establish Chhattisgarh among the country’s leading tourism destinations. The "Best Decoration of Stall and Appearance" award at TTF Kolkata‑2026 symbolizes a strong recognition of Chhattisgarh’s cultural richness, tribal heritage, natural beauty and tourism development potential at the national level and will play a key role in taking the state’s tourism sector to new heights, attracting investment and drawing more domestic and foreign tourists to Chhattisgarh.
