Travel Advisory Issued as Flood Risks Rise Across Multiple Indian States

With the monsoon gaining momentum, the IMD has released a travel advisory for several northern, eastern and northeastern states. States such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Meghalaya are expected to experience prolonged heavy rain.

Authorities warn that water‑logging, submerged roads, and landslides could make travel hazardous. Motorists are urged to avoid non‑essential trips, especially in regions where drainage is poor. Public transport operators have been instructed to monitor road conditions closely and adjust schedules as needed.

The advisory also stresses the importance of staying informed through official channels and respecting any road or bridge closures issued by local administrations.
