Trainee Deputy Collectors Pay Courtesy Call on Governor

Raipur, Governor Ramesh Deka said that administrative service is not just a post, but an important opportunity to serve the common people. It is the duty of every officer to discharge this opportunity with utmost sincerity, sensitivity, and honesty. He said that where there are challenges, there are also new opportunities. Therefore, every situation should be faced with a positive attitude, and decisions should be made in the public interest.
The Governor was interacting with the trainee Deputy Collectors of the 2025 batch of the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission at Lok Bhavan today. These officers are currently undergoing training at the Chhattisgarh Administrative Academy, Nimora. The trainee officers, under the leadership of the Director General of the Academy, Mr. T.C. Mahawar, paid a courtesy call on the Governor.
The Governor said that administrative decisions should also include human sensibilities. He told the officers that every work requires a human touch so that the benefits of government schemes and decisions can actually reach the common citizens. He said that officers should regularly interact with the public, constantly tour their areas, and understand people's problems directly. He said that tasks that are possible should be completed on priority, and if any task is not possible for some reason, clear and transparent information should be provided to the concerned person. This strengthens people's trust in the administration.
The Governor said that logical thinking and prudent conclusions are extremely important for administrative officers. Making impartial decisions based on facts is the hallmark of a capable officer. He said that ensuring justice for the people is the primary duty of a public servant, and every officer should work with this spirit. He told the trainee officers that they are young and the responsibility of the future administration lies heavily on their shoulders. They have to strengthen good governance, transparency, and public trust through their work. The Governor said that all of you are fortunate to have the opportunity to serve in a state like Chhattisgarh, which is peaceful, prosperous, and culturally rich. The spirit of service, cooperation, and camaraderie is very strong among the people here. Staying true to this trust and affection and living up to the expectations of the public will be the hallmark of a successful administrative officer.
