Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal honored on World Tourism Day

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the tourism sector of Jashpur district received significant state-level recognition. The organization 'Trippy Hills' from Jashpur was awarded the 'Best Adventure Tourism Award' for the year 2026. The award was presented by Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal at the World Tourism Day ceremony held in Raipur on September 27. The event, organized jointly by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board and the Chhattisgarh Travel Trade Association (CGTTA), honored institutions and stakeholders who have made notable contributions in tourism. State tourism awards recognized outstanding work across various categories, including adventure tourism. Since 2019, Trippy Hills has been working to showcase Jashpur's natural and adventure tourism potential through activities such as trekking, rock climbing, cave exploration, water activities and camping, linking natural sites, waterfalls, caves, forests and mountainous areas with adventure tourism. The organization involves local youth and communities, training rural youth as guides and connecting homestays and traditional cuisine with tourism, thereby creating self-employment opportunities. Emphasis is also placed on environmental protection and responsible tourism. With the support of district administration, adventure-based events like 'Jashpur Jamboree' have provided a broader platform for the district's tourism potential, aiming to promote Jashpur's natural and adventure attractions across the state and the country. The award also encourages local youth, tourism entrepreneurs, guides, homestay operators and communities working in Jashpur's tourism sector, bringing new energy to develop adventure, eco and community tourism. After receiving the award, Trippy Hills founder and director Shri Saurabh Singh said the organization was started to showcase Jashpur's natural beauty to the world and that the honor recognizes the ground-level effort of the organization as well as the contributions of local youth, guides, homestay operators and the people of the district, expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal and the district administration. Co-founder and managing director Shri Praveen Kumar Singh added that the state-level recognition on World Tourism Day gives new direction and encouragement to years of effort, and that the organization aims to promote Jashpur's natural wealth, local culture and community-based tourism, acknowledging the contributions of local youth, guides and homestay operators. This state-level recognition on World Tourism Day 2026 provides Jashpur with an important identity for its natural and adventure tourism potential, expected to boost adventure tourism and community-based tourism and help develop Jashpur as a major tourist destination.
