Minister Tokhan Sahu Pledges Discipline and Sportsmanship

During the inauguration of the 26th State‑Level School Sports Competition, Central State Minister Tokhan Sahu delivered a compelling address to the young participants. He asked every athlete to swear to follow the game rules, maintain discipline, act with integrity and embody true sportsmanship.

"Sport is not just about winning; it shapes life skills such as confidence, patience and perseverance," the minister said, urging competitors to let their academic pursuits blend with athletic training. He encouraged them to overcome stress and depression, stepping forward with self‑assurance.

The ceremony also saw the unveiling of a future‑ready stage at the Physical College ground, financed with a total of ₹15 lakh—₹10 lakh from the minister and ₹5 lakh from MLA Atal Srivastava—aimed at hosting larger public events.

The gathering concluded with gratitude expressed by officials, and a promise to provide top‑notch facilities and security for all athletes during the four‑day meet.
