The Samabalpur–Dhammta National Highway was the site of a severe road accident that claimed the life of nurse Shabnam Khan and left three others wounded. The Sanjivni ambulance, tasked with transporting a dead body, collided with a tractor‑trolley that had entered the lane. The force of the impact crushed the vehicle, trapping the nurse inside the cabin.
Emergency responders worked for several minutes to free her, but she could not be revived. The injured passengers, suffering from fractures and bruises, were admitted to Dhammta District Hospital where doctors continue to monitor their recovery. Police officials have cordoned off the area and are gathering statements to determine liability.
