Ten Women Craft One Thousand Scented Rakhis Using Khadi Roots

The Annapurna women’s group spent weeks harvesting, drying and shaping khadi roots into thin threads that become the core of the Rakhi. When a drop of water lands on the thread, the natural scent of the plant awakens, turning the simple wrist‑band into a fragrant reminder of the region’s biodiversity.
