Temple Statues Broken with Chisel and Hammer in Chhattisgarh, Suspect Held

A shocking act of vandalism was reported from a temple situated on the Padav road in Gudiyari, Raipur. Surveillance footage showed a lone man breaking the stone idols of three revered figures using a chisel and a hammer. The suspect, Hemant Agrawal, was apprehended after police matched the footage with his appearance and traced the tools back to his home. During questioning, Hemant admitted that his unemployment had driven him to vent his anger on the holy icons, believing the gods were not supporting his job search. He has been sent to jail on judicial remand while the case proceeds.
